نکته:
به یاد داشته باشید که yet معمولاً در انتهای جمله استفاده میشود.
از قید yet در حالتی استفاده می کنیم که انتظار داریم شرایط تغییر کند ولی هنوز تغییر مورد نظر رخ نداده است.
به مثال زیر دقت کنید:
.Where is Emma? She isn’t here yet.
اما کجاست؟ هنوز نیامده.
فعل عبارتی look forward to در زبان فارسی به معنای ”مشتاقانه منتظر چیزی بودن“ترجمه میشود. واژه to در واقع حرف اضافه محسوب شده و در نتیجه باید بعد از اون یک عبارت اسمی یا فعل ing دار بیاوریم.
Subject + To be + looking forward to + Verb(ing)
.I’m looking forward to the holidays.
من مشتاقانه منتظر تعطیلات هستم.
.I’m not looking forward to Christmas this year.
امسال منتظر کریسمس نیستم. (شوق و اشتیاقی برای این موضوع ندارم)
We’re looking forward to going to Switzerland next year.
ما مشتاقانه منتظر رفتن به سوئیس در سال آینده هستیم.
نکات مهم در استفاده از look forward to
.بعد از فعل عبارتی look forward to از فعل ساده استفاده نمیکنیم.
. I look forward to hearing from you.
. I look forward to hear from you.
.اگر در جمله دو فعل داشته باشیم و فعل دوم فاعل متفاوتی داشته باشه، در قسمت دوم جمله باید از ضمیر مفعولی استفاده کنیم و نه ضمیر فاعلی. برای درک بهتر به مثال زیر دقت کنید:
. We’re looking forward to him arriving next week.
. We’re looking forward to he arriving next week.
.از این فعل عبارتی در انتهای نامه یا ایمیل هم زیاد استفاده میشود تا نشان دهد که نویسنده مایل است با مخاطب در تماس باشد و معمولاً در این حالت از زمان حال ساده استفاده میکنیم. مثال:
I look forward to your reply.
. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
